On April 23, 2025, BookJane Inc. (the “Company”) filed a Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal (“NOI”) pursuant to section 50.4(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (the “BIA”) and Albert Gelman Inc. (“AGI”) was appointed to act as trustee under the NOI (in such capacity, the “Trustee”). AGI was previously engaged as consultant to the Company to assist with conducting a pre-filing sale process to solicit interest from third-parties for the acquisition of BookJane’s business, which did not materialize in a transaction. As such, and in the face of liquidity constraints, the Company filed an NOI and intends to make a motion to Court in the near-term to seek approval of a transaction for a going-concern sale of its business to the Company’s secured creditors.
