Gateway Market Canada Inc., Tobmar Investments Inc. and Tobmar Investments International Inc.

Gateway Market Canada Inc. (“Gateway”), Tobmar Investments Inc. (“Tobmar”) and Tobmar Investments International Inc. (“Tobmar International” and collectively with Gateway and Tobmar, the “Companies”) each filed a Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal (“NOI”) pursuant to the provisions of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (Canada) (“BIA”) on April 19, 2022 and Albert Gelman Inc. (the “Proposal Trustee”) was appointed as Trustee in each of the proposal proceedings.

Each of the Companies is incorporated according to the laws of the province of Ontario and are engaged in the newstands franchisor industry. Gateway, Tobmar and Tobmar International operate from a leased premises located in Toronto, Ontario.

The Companies are not bankrupt but have availed themselves of a procedure whereby an insolvent person restructures its financial affairs with creditor and Court approval. The NOI provides an automatic stay of proceedings against the Companies’ creditors providing the Companies with an opportunity to restructure their affairs and formulate a proposal to creditors. During this time, the Companies will remain in control of their respective assets and business operations.
